Nissan arrived in Detroit for this year's North American International Auto Show with an eye-catching concept car that looks into the future of car design and technology. Simply called the V-Motion 2.0 concept, the stylish sedan showcases the brand's upcoming design direction, as well as the possibility of introducing their self-driving tech "Intelligent Mobility" for upcoming models.

Starting with the front fascia, the concept features an evolutionary redesign of the brand's V-Motion grill. Adopting a three-dimensional finish, the grill itself has become larger and acts as a key centerpiece for the concept. Flanking the large front grill are thin headlights that come with round lighting accents. It glows when the car is in ProPILOT mode, which is the car's onboard autonomous driving feature.

A floating roofline also makes its way in the V-Motion 2.0 concept, along with large alloy wheels and sharp character lines seen throughout the side profile. Like the front, the rear section bears an expressive finish thanks to the use of boomerang-shaped taillights and rear diffuser that glows when in ProPILOT mode.

The car itself is finished in a distinct warm silver hue mixed with copper undertones. Depending on where you look at it, the V-Motion 2.0 concept can appear gray or copper.

"Copper is an emerging color trend in many industries, including fashion, product designand interior design. We wanted to introduce shades and hints of copper while mixing it with other metals such as satin silver and chrome," said Shiro Nakamura, senior vice president and chief creative officer, Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.

Size-wise, the V-Motion 2.0 concept measures 4,860mm long, 1,890mm wide, 1,380mm tall and has a 2,850mm wheelbase.

Both the front and rear doors open outward which makes for easier ingress / egress. The dashboard carries the theme "Gliding Wing" which seamlessly integrates the instrument panel and infotaiment system for both the driver and passenger. Rear passengers also have a small center console which serves as an extension for the front-mounted main screen.

Leather upholstery was used on the seats while threadless quilting provides a unique finish and texture reminiscent of expensive handbags. Zebra wood trim, on the other hand, contrasts the soft-touch upholstery. A center console-mounted dashpad allows users to control the infotainment system while a Bose UltraNearField audio speakers provides aural entertainment in the concept car.
